Third Grade

Hey Jack,

Everybody liked the new kits and the tray popping adds a lot to the third grader's germination experience. You know, I started using Jack Sprout materials in 2003. Ever since, my third graders loved measuring and charting the growth of their very own sprout kit. They followed Jack's journeys in the story that goes with the unit. One year we raised money with the grown sprouts.

All my students got something out of this lesson and wanted to do it again, so I try to get kits every year. Thanks for the improvements in the kit materials!

Dear Jack,

Thank you for donating your materials, time and talent to our classroom. The lessons you did on sprouts and planting were excellent. The children learned so much about the process of growing sprouts - an introduction to our unit on plants. The children were motivated to continue learning about plants.

The children are still talking about the characters in the book you wrote. Ernie Earthworm and Jack Sprout are still being brought up in class discussions. On Earth Day, some of the children drew Ernie Earthworm and Jack Sprout and talked about the jobs they do for the earth.

I want to thank you again for sharing your enthusiasm as well as time, talent and materials with us this year. I will add the activities on sprouts to my unit on plants.

Hi Jack,

I just wanted to thank you both again for the great presentation at Kailua-Kona Public Library. Everyone loved it! I got many positive comments on your presentation and the delicious sprouts. I've been singing the sprout song all week, I like it. Several people have asked me where they can purchase your sprouts.

I had a mom tell me that her son doesn't eat vegetables at home, but he was eating the sprouts and asking for more. I think everyone was surprised at how juicy and tasty [Jack's] sprouts are. They are obviously raised with loving care.
