Your $4.95 Jack Sprout Lid Poppin' germination kits provide everything your individual student needs in a space-efficient tray packed with the right amount of soil and seeds. Students take out their growth charting sheet, map of Jack’s world, fill out the date/time of the experiment on the label, and add just a third of a cup of water. After four days each student’s container will audibly and dramatically “pop” open as the sprouts begin to grow.
The 5x8-inch container has a base to hold moisture, so when water is added the tray keeps the moisture where it belongs -- classroom desks and tables stay clean and dry.
Observe the rate of growth, changes in the soil, root growth, location of the seed parts. Harvest the sprouts at 7 inches of height and eat them as a healthy snack. Consider selling bagged sprouts as a fund raiser.
Add Reading! Print the story of Jack Sprout, a sunflower sprout who, as he grows, realizes – and has to accept – that he is different. He breaks from his roots, moves from the farm where he sprouted, and finds his own way in the world. He conquers his fears to become a farmer and help feed the world.
Add Map Reading, Music, Art and Nutrition with materials included with the kits. Files to reproduce these materials are also available right here on Jack Sprout’s web site.
Add a friendly, two-foot-tall Jack Sprout mascot to your classroom and help the lesson last all year! (see Jack - the mascot.)
Keep Growing,
